We are happy to announce that we have recently received our Lead-Safe Certification from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This document signifies our commitment to protecting our customers, employees and environment by preventing lead exposure.
Homes built before 1978 may contain surfaces painted with lead-based paint, which is a dangerous substance when disturbed and breathed in. Lead dust is especially dangerous for children 6 years old and younger, who may experience learning disabilities and developmental delays.
As a Lead-Safe EPA Certified contractor, Platinum Exteriors will inform you if we find lead-painted surfaces that will be involved in the renovation. When it comes to your home’s exterior, siding is one of these surfaces that may be covered in lead paint. We will follow the EPA guidelines in terms of containing the work area, minimizing lead dust and cleaning up thoroughly.
All these steps are aimed to prevent lead contamination and keep you and your family safe during and after the completion of your exterior renovation project.
